About Tey Lynn
Tey Lynn uses poetry as a means of self exploration, therapy, and self-expression. The ability to weave allegorical visuals into her life experiences is why poetry is her most valued autobiographical tool. As a writer, she relies on Afrofuturism as a lens to speculate on the world. Her Blackness, queerness, and femininity is interwoven into all of her works, and she aims to widen the scope for people that experience the world the way she does.
She loves Smino, 6lack, and Kehlani. She has 3 tattoos, and plans on at least 3 or 4 more. She is the queen of the Dollar Tree, mostly because her sweet tooth is monstrous, but also because the art materials are surprisingly clutch. She is a world traveler, and hopes to be a nomad, living in many countries and experiencing a myriad of food, languages, and cultures. All in all, she is a proud Black bisexual woman that loves who she is and where she’s going.
I am always open to present the following presentations to any organizations. Please contact me if you are interested.
I am still developing a presentation related to my scholarly article. You can find it here:

My Presentations

ROSES & THORNS
This is a presentation I wrote for the 2019 SDSU Leadership Summit, which was themed "Leading with Heart."
Leadership is often so achievement focused that you can forget that you are not leading robots, but your emotional, busy, and stressed-out student peers. This workshop discusses the importance of fostering a culture of empathy and simple ways to do so in the daily operations your organizations.

SELF CARE: THE MISSING PIECE
This is a presentation I wrote for the 2020 SDSU Leadership Summit, which was themed "Finding Yourself in the Leadership Puzzle."
Leaders often feel they have to be perfect, which can build enough pressure to make anyone crack. This session teaches leaders realistic ways to create a self-care routine that allows them to maintain a healthy mental state. Attendants will engage in different activities such as puzzles, coloring books, breathing exercises, and writing affirmations to practice different self care techniques.
